I've decided to start a new blog focusing on current paintings on my easel.
About 4 years ago, I drove by a for lease sign out in front of an old brick warehouse in Millcreek Township. The owner of the property, Kevin Flynn, had purchased the old buildings that had once housed a radio parts factory. A musician himself (
www.kevinflynnjazz.com), Kevin wanted to be surrounded by creative energy and made the decision to convert the property into working artist studios. Needless to say the space was filled up within a week. I feel so fortunate to be able to work in such an old historic building and be surrounded by such a high calibre of artists. I share a space with Candy Rideout, who on more than one occassion has been able to critique a painting on my easel that is not working! 4 times a year the studios are cleaned up and opened to the public for a gallery stroll and sale. Please join us on Nov. 21st from noon to nine at Studio 8!
