As I mentioned in prior posts, I had shoulder surgery for the 2nd time this year in December and have been unable to paint since then. The Doc gave me the go ahead a few weeks ago and I hit the easel hard. Unfortunately the "mojo" hasn't been flowing! When I take that much time off, things don't come easy. It seems harder to get into the zone. So I decided to post some of the paintings of other artists I greatly admire, that I have been fortunate to acquire while not painting. I love buying these little gems since I learn so much from studying them. They are like workshop demos to me and often remain at my studio unframed!
I received this beauty last week. It is by Fongwei Liu, an amazing artist living in the bay area. Check out his blog at http://fongwei.blogspot.com. He has been posting amazing plein air pieces he has been doing in between the rain!

I have a commission too do and just got stuck at a point and couldn't move forward. There wasn't any creative juices flowing anywhere.
When I get like that, I panick, thinking, Oh no, thats it, it will not come back
Luckily it usually does.I guess it just has to do with over doing or thinking.
Hope your surgery was sucessful.
Back to painting soon. :-)
